SECTOR SPECIALTIES

SECTOR SPECIALTIES

MEDICAID AND MEDICARE

Our team has over 20 years of experience in the public health arena. Knowli can help States maintain fiscally-sound programs by optimizing limited resources and assuring appropriate service delivery. Our current projects include interactive reporting and dashboard development,  managed care readiness assessment, managed care quality and performance monitoring, and predictive and prescriptive analytics.

PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY ANALYTICS

Our team was formally deployed in March 2020 by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration to serve the State of Florida Emergency Response to the Public Health Emergency (PHE). For over two years, our team provided daily reporting to State Leadership to support data-driven decision-making related to the PHE. Our projects included interactive reporting on cases, hospitalizations, Emergency Status System (ESS) and Emergency Notification System (ENS) data, hospital and facility resources, vaccinations, and more.

FEDERAL NUTRITION PROGRAMS

Administering and monitoring federally funded child and adult nutrition programs is a challenging task. Knowli has developed analytic solutions for States to detect anomalies in eligibility and service delivery by monitoring contractor and vendor trends. Equipped with these supportive analytic tools, States can effectively prioritize sites for reviews and audits for the maintenance of program integrity, efficiency, and fiscal accountability.

STATE REGULATORY AND LICENSING AGENCIES

Knowli can help agencies take advantage of the rapid advances in technology to identify and assess areas of concern and opportunities for growth. Working to meet our clients’ needs, we have developed custom performance-monitoring dashboards, designed automated Early Warning Systems for financial and utilization parameters, and identified data-driven, practical solutions to improve agency outcomes.

LEGISLATIVE REQUESTS

State government relies on availability of timely, accurate information to support policy development and implementation. Our team supports State Agencies and other entities in preparing responses to Legislative Session information requests. Operating in a rapid-response environment during Session and Committee Weeks, we ensure that clear and correct information is delivered to decision-makers through appropriate channels.

EDUCATION POLICY, RESEARCH, AND ANALYTICS

Knowli supports data-driven decision-making and assessment research in the education sector. Knowli’s team has subject matter experts in educational research, with experience designing, implementing, and assessing educational interventions from K-12 through college. Knowli develops education surveys and data dashboards to support evidence-based decision-making.

HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES RESEARCH

Knowli’s team is well-trained in both qualitative and quantitative research methods to support research and evaluation efforts in health and human services sectors. Our team manages survey design and implementation, develops analytic dashboards to visualize trends, performs and analyzes qualitative interviews, and produces statistical models that address current issues and predict future outcomes.

MACHINE LEARNING & ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)

We leverage machine learning and AI to help government agencies and healthcare organizations turn complex data into actionable insights. Our team has applied models like BERT to identify potentially preventable events in Medicaid and support projections related to opioid use, abuse, and resource allocation. We prioritize transparency, accuracy, and privacy — principles reflected in our upcoming AI product designed to deliver precise, reference-backed outputs with built-in security and privacy safeguards. Whether supporting predictive modeling, natural language processing, or risk identification, we build AI tools that empower smarter decisions.

FRAUD, WASTE, AND ABUSE (FWA)

Detecting fraud, waste, and abuse in federally funded programs requires targeted analytics that help agencies safeguard program integrity and ensure fiscal accountability. Knowli has developed solutions for programs like SNAP, Medicaid, and CACFP that surface anomalies in eligibility, service delivery, and vendor behavior. By identifying patterns of risk, our tools help agencies prioritize investigations, audits, and reviews, empowering decision-makers to protect public resources and improve program oversight. Most recently, we partnered with ISF, Inc. to create a custom algorithm supporting FWA detection in Texas’s SNAP program.

Our team at Knowli applies our interdisciplinary experience and subject matter expertise to help organizations overcome challenges, anticipate opportunities for change and optimization, and make informed, data-driven decisions.
